Lowell H. Burkholder, age 89 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. He was born on September 15, 1912 in Cullom, Illinois to Henry and Sarah (Wenger) Burkholder and later graduated from Concord High School in 1932. He later married Helen May Yoder on March 4, 1934 in Elkhart, Indiana and they moved to the White Cloud area in 1950. Lowell had been a self employed carpenter and was a member of the White Cloud Mennonite Church. He is survived by his wife, Helen May of White Cloud; his daughters, Marjorie (Allen) Christner of Traverse City, Michigan; Miriam (Sanford) Christophel of Battle Creek, Michigan; Carolyn Burkholder of Kansas City, Kansas; Doris (Dean) Roberts of Vian, Oklahoma; Ruth Ann (Calvin) Hershberger of Topeka, Kansas; his sons, Howard (Carol) Burkholder of White Cloud; Delbert (Betty) Burkholder of White Cloud; Nelson (Virginia) Burkholder of Canton, Ohio; Edward (Carol) Burkholder of Elkhart, Indiana; 26 grandchildren; over 35 great grandchildren; his sisters, RuthYoder of Goshen, Indiana; Bertha Goetz of Goshen, Indiana; Mildred (Earl) Yoder of Goshen, Indiana; his brother, Clayton Burkholder of Goshen, Indiana. He was preceded in death by a son, David Burkholder on July 6, 1956 and a sister, Esther Hoover. Funeral services were held on Friday, February 22, 2002 from the White Cloud Mennonite Church with Mr. Richard Near and Mr. Mark Richie presiding with interment in the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery.
