Lucille Dukes, age 76 of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at her home following a lingering illness. Lucille was born on March 24, 1935 in Scotts, Mississippi to Will and Rosie (Jones) Edwards and later married Rev. Hiram Dukes on July 8, 1977 in Chicago. Rev. Hiram preceded her in death on March 4, 2002. Lucille has been a resident of the White Cloud area since 1971 where she had been a member of the Glory of Latter House Ministries Church in White Cloud. Lucille enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling and had been an active member of her church. Lucille is survived by her sisters and brothers, Dorothy & Willie Bettis of White Cloud; Tommy & Thelma Rice; Alice Mae Smith; Barbara Jones; Ira Johnson; Willie D. Brown; Martha Johnson; Josie Mae Johnson; Samuel Sam Johnson; as well as many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Maxine Johnson Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 12pm with family hour from 11-12 at the Glory of Latter House Ministries in White Cloud. Interment will take place at the Lincoln Township Cemetery. Friends may consider memorial contributions in memory of Lucille to Crandell Funeral Home to assist with a cemetery monument.
