Lulah L. McCarty, age 95, of White Cloud passed away Saturday, Aug 19, 2000, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Lulah was born on July 20, 1905, in Fennville, Michigan, to Frank G. and Jossie E. (Foster) Crane and married James H. McCarty on December 2, 1924, in Fennville. Frank preceded her in death on October 17, 1966. She owned and operated a general store with her husband for many years, was a member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church, and former member of the Rebeka Lodge of Hesperia. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Oosterhaven of Newaygo; son, Leon James (Joan) McCarty of Comstock Park; eight grandchildren, Robert (Patricia) Trapp of White Cloud; Roger (Linda) Trapp of White Cloud; Ruth (Ken) Fish of White Cloud; June (Carl) Schutter of Ravenna; Lori (Raymond) Maleski of Ravenna; Joy (Jeff) Balasko of Kent City; Sally (Dennis) Rynberg of Sparta; and Dr. Amy McCarty of Constock Park. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren Ronald Trapp and Cynthia Gibson. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 22, 2000 from the White Cloud United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Jaquish presiding. Interment was in Fennville Cemetery. Friends may consider the White Cloud United Methodist Church Building Fund for a more lasting memorial contribution.
