December 23, 1937 – September 30, 2012
Lyle Bud Burmeister, age 74 of Fremont, passed away Sunday morning, September 30, 2012 at his home following a lingering illness. Bud was born on December 23, 1937 in Muskegon to Ernest and Clarissa (Feltner) Burmeister and has been a lifelong resident of the Muskegon and Newaygo County area. Bud joined the United States Navy and served during the post Korean era where he met and married Peg Stewart in Seekonk, Massachusetts. Bud had worked as an instrument technician at the Sappi Paper Company in Muskegon for 37 years until his retirement in 2001and was a member of the Reeman Christian Reformed Church in Fremont. Bud had enjoyed racing cars, rodeos and boating in his younger years and most recently enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tinkering and building at his home. Bud especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bud is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peg of Fremont; his children, Toni (Bruce) Masters of Bailey; David (Carla) Burmeister of Fremont; Kelly (Roger) Graves of Fremont; his grandchildren, Tyler (Erica) Masters; Andrew Masters; Robin (Scott) Tyink; Ryan Burmeister; Jake Graves; Dylan Graves; his great grand daughter, Natalee Tyink; his sister, Shirley Ann (Harold) Davis of Muskegon; his brother, James Burmeister of Largo, Florida; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bud was preceded in death by an infant brother, David. VISITATION : Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 5-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 11:00am at the Reeman Christian Reformed Church 6121 S Fitzgerald Ave Fremont MI 49412. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Reeman Christian Reformed Church Endowment Fund at the Fremont Area Community Foundation or Heartland Hospice.
