Lyle Robert McGrady, age 80 of Fremont passed away Monday, August 21, 2000. He was born on April 25, 1920, in Ravenna to Sam and Pearl (Steig) McGrady and married Marjorie Bassett on May 7, 1949. He was member of the U.A.W. Teamsters Union and drove for Gilliland Transfer Company until his retirement in 1977. He is survived by daughters Delores A. (Robert) Ogborn of Fruitport, Roberta (Ted) Ash of Olney, Illinois, Linda (Larry) Dickinson of Fremont, and Darlene S. (Robert) DeWitt of Fremont; sons Robert Eugene (Norma) Goodman of Fairbanks, Alaska and Daniel (Peggy) McGrady of Fremont; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Phyllis) McGrady of Ravenna; sisters Ruth (Merle) Momber of Sparta and June (Mike) Ruge of Gowen. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie in 1999 and 2 brothers. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 23, 2000, from the Crandell Funeral Home Chapel in Fremont with Rev. Daniel Duncan from the Fremont United Methodist Church presiding. Interment was in Sherman Township Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial friends are asked to consider Long Lake Association.
