Lynda S. Thornton, a beloved resident of Fremont, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at the age of 85. Born in Grandville, Michigan, on Thursday, September 14th, 1939, Lynda was a caring and dedicated individual whose warmth touched many lives.

Lynda devoted 19 years of her career as a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Mercy Hospital. Her commitment to helping others was evident not only in her professional life but also in her personal life, where she cherished spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving children: Suzanne Kommer; Karen (Robert) Kleer; Geraldine (Neale) Helsel; and Robert Thornton. Her legacy continues through her multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her later years.

Lynda is also survived by her dear sisters, Charlotte (Raymond) Pencarinha and Deanna (Eugene) Nakamura. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry L Thornton, her father, William Wadkins, her mother, Audrey (Sarber) Wadkins, and her brothers, William and Charles Wadkins.

Her family finds peace in the countless memories shared and the impact she made on so many lives. In honor of Lynda's commitment to caregiving and community, donations in her memory may be made to the Newaygo Medical Care Facility.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont, Michigan, where family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Fremont Lake Park, where Lynda and Henry enjoyed life many happy years.

Her family takes comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those who have gone before her and holds on to the love she left behind. Lynda Thornton will be deeply missed, yet her spirit and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
