Lynn Howarth, 72, a fearless woman, passed away at her home near Acker Lake February 20, 2011 after a yearlong battle with cancer. Lynnie Lue was born March 19, 1938 in Dayton Township to Arlon Landon and Altha Fern (Sortor) Ashcroft and lived in West Michigan her entire life. Lynn married Harold Howarth June 23, 1956 in Fremont. He followed her into eternity a mere five hours after her departure. She was a homemaker, den mother, 4-H Club leader, FFA chaperone and fur trapper. She is survived by her husband, Harold, her son, Calvin and her daughter, Gail, all of Holton. Lynn also leaves behind a sister, Clara Vickers of Newaygo, and a brother, Mike (Barb) Ashcroft of Grant. In addition, she will be fondly remembered by special friends Sharon Gray, Tammy Tortorelli, Gilbert Pearson and David Murphy. Four legged pals Hannah and Sadie will miss their favorite human toy. Lynn was preceded in death by her brother Fred, her sisters Helen Cook, Dawn Ashcroft, and Rose Beaune. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 6-8pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Mr. Ken Wallace presiding. Interment will take place at the Bridgeton Township Cemetery.
