IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lynn P.
Nevin, M.D.
March 25, 1960 – April 4, 2025
Lynn P. Nevin, M.D., age 65 of Fremont, passed away April 4, 2025 at the Corewell Health Gerber Hospital in Fremont. Lynn was born on March 25, 1960 in Grand Haven to Hans "Herb" Podehl and Shirley "Dee" Podehl and married Michael Nevin on July 8, 1989 in Spring Lake, Michigan. Lynn had been a resident of Fremont since 1995 where she practiced medicine. She was a member of the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church and numerous medical organizations.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Nevin; her son, Jacob (Cloud) Nevin; her mother, Shirley "Dee" Podehl; her brothers, Paul (Carrie) Podehl and Eric (Peggy) Podehl; her aunt, Irene Beilmann; her sisters-in-law, Merey Podehl, Linda Traynor, Christine (Terry) Keenan, and Laura Nevin; her numerous wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews; and her chosen sons, Matthew (Skye) Cummings and Justin Hughes.
Lynn Nevin was an amazing family doctor, who served her patients from birth to death. She did obstetrics delivering over 1,300 babies and later added geriatrician to her qualifications because there was a need in the community. She loved her patients and most of her patients loved her. She set an incredibly high standard for care and caring. We learned through her that it was a privilege to touch new life and to lay hands on bodies in a healing process.
Lynn was matter of fact about everything from medicine, life, family, and faith. No pretense, she truly walked the walk. She was generous in every sense of the word. She gave her time and was vulnerable with strangers, making friends everywhere she went. As a doctor, spouse, mother, aunt, and friend, her love was perfect and endless.
Lynn loved music, both listening to it and making it. She sang in the choir, played drums in church, and took her family to innumerable concerts. She had an insatiable appetite for life. It is hard to say if she played harder or worked harder. She did both beautifully and with passion.
