Manchip, M. Tom M. Tom Manchip, age 68 of White Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Tom was born on August 22, 1937 in Kokomo, Indiana to James Robert and Josephine (Danto) Manchip Sr. and moved to the White Cloud area as a young boy. He graduated from White Cloud High School in 1956 and later married Carole Richards on June 18, 1960 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud. Tom had been an engineer and surveyor with the Newaygo County Road Commission for a short time and later started work at Newaygo Engineering and Survey until his retirement in 1999. Tom enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and grilling at family gatherings. He enjoyed the Michigan outdoors and hunting and fishing in and around Newaygo County. Tom was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carole of White Cloud; his children, Vicki (Steve) Smith of Kentwood; Greg (Lorraine) Manchip of White Cloud; his granddaughters, Megan Smith; Breanna Manchip; Miranda Manchip; his sister, Jacqueline Kohlhaas (Ben Kruissel) of Paw Paw; his brother, James Robert (Jane) Manchip of California; his aunt, Vivian Manchip of Fremont; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass Services were held on Monday, June 19, 2006 from the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud with interment in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in White Cloud.
