Mabel L. Douma, age 81 of Fremont , passed away Thursday, February 20, 2003 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont . Mabel was born on July 29, 1921 in Holton , Michigan to Joseph and Lillie F. (Woodring) Essenberg and married Francis W. Douma on February 9, 1952 in Fremont . Francis preceded her in death on May 15, 1989 . She had been a sales clerk and homemaker and was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Women. She is survived by her children, Shirley (Garry) Host of Fremont; Larry (Tricia) Douma of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; her sister Edith Franich at Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 24, 2003 from the Fremont United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Duncan presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery .
