Mae Morton, age 81 of Fremont, passed away Thursday at the Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. She was born on Feb. 22, 1923 in Shelby to David and Carrie (Dawson) Croff and later married Clyde E. Morton on Oct. 12, 1946. She has been a longtime resident of the Fremont area where she had been a waitress at Samuels Restruant for many years. She enjoyed bowling and bingo. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Clyde of Fremont; many nieces and nephews and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marion Faye Morton in 1956. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 15, 2004 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Larry Wood of the Fremont United Methodist Church presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may consider the American Heart Association for memorial contributions.
