Obituary

Robinson, Mamie Marie Mamie Marie Robinson, affectionately called Mother Robinson, was born on August 28, 1928 to Mack Hall and Catherine Stevenson Hall in Detroit, Michigan. Mother Robinson accepted Christ at an early age during her visits in Bowling Green, Kentucky where her mother was born. She attended the High School of Commerce in Detroit. When Marie was 17 years old, she was united in marriage to Fonzie Lee Robinson and to this union 12 children were born. A vital part of her lifes work was spent raising her 12 children, grand and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed attending to the elderly and the less fortunate. Gudied by Christian principle, Mother Robinson stood for what she believed in and the Lord was her Shepherd. She often stated He is my all & all She was a woman of great principle, dignity, and discipline. At the age of 9 her mother died. Her grandmother, Reidi Stevenson then cared for her and her siblings. She worked along with her grandmother performing laundry services in a cigar factory while in her teens. She also performed domestic duties for Jewish families. Christian values were instilled and impressed into her heart and life which Mother Robinson expressed that her good moral attitude was the result of her experiences from childhood. She departed this life on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the home of her youngest daughter, Lisa Robinson in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She leaves to cherish her memory 12 children, Fonzie Lee III of Fremont; Donna Jean of Fremont; Howard (Stephanie) Elliott of Romulus, Michigan; Marcel (Virginia) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; Douglas Floyd (Angela) of White Cloud, Michigan; Veronica Doncella (Rafael Hazel) of Atlanta, Georgia; Catherine Marie (Trent Stewart) of Bitely; Karen Ann of Ypsilanti, Michigan; Lynn Leondra of Richmond, Virginia; Arwin Eugene (Suzzette) of Detroit; Michigan; twins, Lester David (Theresa) of Detroit; Lisa Susan of Ypsilanti, Michigan; 102 grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Edell (Shirley) Hall of Bitely; Benjamin Hall of White Cloud; Charles (Linda) Hall of Detroit, Michigan; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 16, 2005 from the White Cloud Empowerment Center, Church of God in Christ with Superintendent Robert E. Smith presiding with interment in the Lilley Township Cemetery. Friends may consider the Transitional Health Service Patient Fund for memorial contributions in memory of Mamie Marie.
