Margaret Eleanor Jibson, age 93 of Sitka, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont following a long illness. Margaret was born on March 24, 1915 in Newaygo, Michigan to Frank and Lillian (Anderson) Anderson and met and later married Lloyd Jibson on September 17, 1938 in Frankfort, Michigan. Lloyd preceded her in death. Margaret attended County Normal and later attended and received her bachelors degree from Western Michigan University. Margaret had been a school teacher in Brohman and had taught school at Lordon School, Brookside School and later retired from Newaygo Public Schools. She was a member of the Sitka Ladies Aid and enjoyed ceramics and gardening. Margaret was also a member of the Holton United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Sharon Hawes of Sitka; William (Donna) Jibson of Newaygo; her grandchildren, Fritz (Vicki) Hawes; Melissa Sovinski; Kristin (Randy) March; Nick (Elsha) Jibson; her great grandchildren, Levi Hawes, Adam Hawes, Maggie Sovinski, Derek March, Kendra March, Jacob Jibson, Elsha Jibson; a cousin, Michael (Kay) Wallace. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeannette Wolbrink on April 8, 2001. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton with Rev. Jerry Selleck of the Holton United Methodist Church presiding. Friends may consider a charity of the donors choice for memorial contributions in memory of Margaret.
