Margaret Ann Matthews, age 79, of Hesperia, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Margaret was born on August 26, 1933 in Chicago to Karl and Eulalia (Grier) Miesen and married Wayne F. Matthews on March 9, 1950, in Fremont. Margaret worked as a telephone operator in Fremont in the early days, and more recently worked at Factory Surplus Sales in White Cloud, D & D Furniture in White Cloud and Eds Market in Hesperia. Margaret loved spending time with her family and attended the Holton United Methodist Church. Margaret is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Steven (Krithana) Matthews of Fremont, Debra (Dean) Wheater of Fremont, Joy (Mark) Addison of Twin Lake, Kim (Jeff) Benson of Fremont, and Charles (Faith) Matthews of Chicago; her 3 grandchildren, Keri Andrews, Tom Addison, and Elizabeth Benson; 2 great-grandchildren, David Addison and Ally Andrews; brothers and sisters, Karl (Norene) Miesen of Texas, Jim (Barbara) Miesen of Ossineke, Michigan, Don (Jan) Miesen of Rockford, Judy (Dan) Schooley of Holton, and Helen Hackworth of Coldwater, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Frederick Karl Matthews in 1978. Memorial services for Margaret will be held at 11 AM, on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at the Holton United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry Selleck officiating.
