Margaret A. McDonald, age 91 of Fremont , passed away Thursday, March 6, 2003 at her home following a short illness. Margaret was born on January 27, 1912 in Holton to Claud and Theresa (Eislinger) Cregg and married Bruce B. McDonald on February 10, 1934 in Muskegon . Bruce preceded her in death on January 10, 1978 . Margaret graduated from Holton Public Schools and was a long time member of the Sitka United Methodist Church . Margaret was also a member of the Brunswick Club. She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Zerlaut of Sitka; her grandchildren, Allen Bruce (Connie) Zerlaut of Fremont; Myrna (Ray) Brenner of Newaygo; Laura (Gene) Mohrbach of Mishawaka, Indiana; Stephen (Robin) Zerlaut of Sitka; Mac (Shannon) Zerlaut of Holton; 17 great grandchildren; 22 great great grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Laurin Comer of Ludington; sister-in-law, Mary Miner of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce B. McDonald; her sister, Iona Comer; her brothers, James Cregg and Harris Cregg; and her son-in-law, Allen Zerlaut. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 8, 2003 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. James Meines of the Sitka/Unity United Methodist Church presiding with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. Friends may consider Hospice of Michigan Newaygo County for memorial contributions.
