Parketon, Margaret J. Margaret J. Parketon, age 90 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2005 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Margaret was born on May 21, 1915 in Fremont, Michigan to Bert and Ida Belle (Seymour) Dykman and later married Sidney Parketon Jr. on June 6, 1939 in Fremont. Sidney preceded her in death on March 16, 1958. Margaret has been a lifelong resident of Fremont area where she was a production worker at the Gerber Products Company Cereal Department until her retirement in 1980 after 32 years of service. She loved gardening and was a member of the Fremont Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Fremont. She is survived by her children, Linda (Elwin) Schuyler Jr. of St. Peters, Missouri; Darlene Parketon of Fremont; Beverly Parketon of Grand Rapids; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her son-in-law, James Dailey of Hesperia; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Ken Mansfield and Bernice Whitney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney; her daughter, Sandra Dailey on April 13, 2001; her son, Larry Parketon on June 30, 1987; and by her brother, Mel G. Dykman on October 1, 1997. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 1:00 pm from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. David Dickinson of the Fremont Christian Church, Disciples of Christ Church presiding with interment in the West Hesperia Cemetery. Friends may consider the Fremont Christian Church, Disciples of Christ Church or the Newaygo Medical Care Facility for memorial contributions in memory of Margaret.
