Margaret Sanborn, age 90, of Fremont, passed away May 11, 2011, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Margaret was born on February 22, 1921 in Newaygo County to William and Fannie (Lambers) Wolfsen and later married Richard Dale Sanborn on December 9, 1941 in Fremont. Richard preceded her in death on August 9, 1988. Margaret has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where she was a member of the First Reformed Church and had sang in the choir and had been a teacher in the First Reformed Church Womens Guild. Margaret also was an avid reader, loved to sew, was well known for her cooking and enjoyed collecting angels. Margaret is survived by her children, Jacquelyn (Ronald) Overbeek of West Olive; Mary Lynn (Vaughn) Harshfield of Traverse City; Joan (Terry) Dougan of Hamilton; Kathrine Sanborn of Traverse City; Constance (Thomas) Stuart of Grant; Richard Dale Sanborn Jr. of Muskegon; Michael James Sanborn of Kincheloe; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a of her siblings, Bernard Wolfsen, Cornelius Wolfsen, Marie Beck, and Eileen Pell. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, May 14, 2011, at the First Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Kevin Schutt officiating. Visitation will be held at the Church from 12 noon until the time of service. Interment will be in Reeman Cemetery.
