Margaret Lizabeth VanDoorne went home to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior at the age of 81 on Sunday, May 16, 2021. Margaret was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved serving in the Church over the years and was always willing to help others. Margaret was a graduate of Ludington High School and later attended Muskegon Business College. She retired from the State of Michigan where she worked as a secretary/receptionist for the Department of Human Services in Ottawa County. Margaret was previously a long-time resident of Spring Lake. She is survived by her children, Amy (Scott) Grunow of Bear Lake, Michigan, Ann (Mark) Underwood of Caryville, Tennessee, Sara (Mark) Schulte of Hudson Oaks, Texas, and Scott (Buffy) VanDoorne of Fremont, Michigan; fourteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter H. and Beatrice M. Anderson; her brother, Scott T. Pape; and her sister Bethlyann Ruiter. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and the family will hold a private memorial service at a later time. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
