Margie (Mema) E. Worley, age 93 of Big Rapids and White Cloud, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at her home following a short illness. Margie was born on September 11, 1924 in Durham, North Carolina to Roberta Frances Evans and Ruben Lee Elliott. Margie married Laurie Atkinson Wethington, Sr. (June 1, 1946) who preceded her in death. She later married David W Worley (August 1966) of Seneca, South Carolina, he also preceded her in death. Margie worked for the City of Long Beach, California where she was a secretary in the health department for over 20 years. Margie moved to the White Cloud area in 1999 from Greenville, South Carolina. She was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church in White Cloud where she was active in the prayer ministry, the Women's Circle and missionary programs of the church. Margie had an active card ministry to many people throughout the United States and was a true prayer warrior. She was a strong spiritual supporter to her sons, Michael and Bernie throughout the years. She also started various church ministries from North Carolina to California and White Cloud throughout her lifetime.
Margie is survived by her sister Mary Keith of Durham, North Carolina; brother-in-law Larry Worley (Tess) of Greenville, South Carolina; son, Michael Wethington (Nancy) of Hayneville, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Patti Wethington of Big Rapids, Michigan; step daughter Linda Bearden (Charles) of Greenville, South Carolina; Grandchildren – Matthew E. Wethington (Melissa), Shea W. Martin, Sean Wethington (Amanda), Leanna Podhraski (Tomasilav), Jenna Killingbeck (Caleb); Step-grandchildren Wendy Weller (Tracy), Angela Wethington (Mathew Brady), Paxton Bearden (Tracy) and Macie Kreutzer (Kent); Great-grandchildren Elizabeth, William, and Caroline Wethington; Reece, Ellen, and William Martin; Barrett and Berkeley Wethington; Avah and Boston Killingbeck; Step-greatgrandchildren Devon and Tristen Tyrrell, Allegra and Abigail Wethington, Sydney, Reid, and Evan Bearden; Kane, Ryland, and Sloane Kreutzer; and many nieces and nephews; one Step-great-greatgrandchild Cameo Walker.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Harold C. Elliott and Ruth L. Elliott and son, Pastor Bernie E. Wethington, of Big Rapids, Michigan; and step-sons Laurie Atkinson Wethington, Jr. and Bruce Allen Wethington.
VISITATION: Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 11am – 12pm at the Seventh Day Baptist Church 952 E Wilcox White Cloud MI 49349.
