Margo Elaine Stein, age 75 of Holton, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Harbor Hospice Leila & Cyrus Poppen Residence in Muskegon following a long decline in her health. Margo was born on July 5, 1948 in Muskegon to Walter and Margaret (Miller) Slowik and graduated from Holton High School and later Muskegon Business School with an Associates Degree in Secretarial Studies. Margo met and later married William "Bill" Stein on June 24, 1968 at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick and Bill preceded her in death on September 12, 2023. Margo had worked at Meijer Stores in West Michigan as a cashier and retired as a trainer after 30 years of service. Margo was a lifelong member of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick and enjoyed traveling, being thrifty, gaming, knitting, crocheting, baking, cooking and family gatherings. Margo especially treasured being a "grandma" to her grandchildren and loved spending time with her grandkids. Margo is survived by her children, James (Leslie) Stein of Muskegon, Joel Stein of Holton, Jeff Stein of Muskegon, and Jason Stein of Alpena; had been the guardian for Karen (Bloomstrom) Crowley of Fremont; her grandchildren, Tyler Stein, Trent Stein, Riley Stein, and Mackensi Stein; great-grandchildren, Lyric and Elijah; her sisters and brothers, Walter (Linda) Slowik of Holton; Mary Ann (Kenneth) Munford of Hesperia; Kathy (James) Giddings of Holton; Michael Slowik of Holton; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Stein on September 12, 2023; her parents, Walter and Margaret Slowik and by her sister, Linda Marie Slowik. ROSARY : Monday, November 6, 2023 at 9:30am at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick. VISITATION : Monday, November 6, 2023 from 10-11am at the St. Michael Catholic Church.
