Mari Jo Lavin, age 54 of Hesperia, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at her home following a yearlong battle with cancer. Mari Jo was born on August 19, 1964 in Fremont to Maurice and Inez (Rumsey) Dutcher and graduated from Hesperia High School in 1982. Mari Jo met and later married Jim Lavin on May 6, 1995 in Hesperia. Mari Jo had worked in the accounting office at Walmart in Fremont for the past 27 years and enjoyed camping, fishing, shopping – but not buying, but especially treasured the time she spent with her family. Mari Jo is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Lavin; her children, Meagan Lavin, Paige Lavin and Chad Lavin, all of Hesperia; her sisters and brothers, Deanna (Matt) Joppich of Hesperia; Rhonda (Greg) Riddle of Hesperia; Donnie Hills of Hesperia; Brad Hills of Whitehall; mother-in-law, Marilyn Deater of Muskegon; step mother-in-law, Ruby Lavin of Hesperia; sister-in-law, Patti (Joe) Ohrling of Muskegon; brothers-in-laws, Terry Lavin of Hesperia; Robert (Tammy) Deater of New Mexico; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Mari Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Inez Dutcher; her father-in-law, Viljo Lavin; step father-in-law, James Deater.
