Marian R. Schulte, age 94 of Fremont, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Green Acres Assisted Living Center in Fremont. Marian was born on December 11, 1923 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Gustov Adolf and Marian (Brigham) Reiman. Marian attended Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin and graduated with a degree in German. She worked as kindergarten assistant after graduating from Beloit. This experience established her lifelong love, deep respect and understanding of children. She believed in a broad and comprehensive education and that learning was lifelong. In addition to her high regard for education, Marian had a lifelong love of music and the dramatic arts. She moved to the Fremont area in 2005 from Farmington Hills, Michigan where she had been a homemaker. Marian's greatest treasures in life were being a mother and grandmother, and she saw the best in everyone she met. She enjoyed knitting, playing Bridge, reading, and was a member of the First Congregational Church in Fremont. Marian will be best remembered for her acceptance of all people, concern for others particularly those less fortunate, patience, and a steady belief in a better future. She had a quiet and firm faith in God. Caring and supportive, Marian delighted in her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed
Marian is survived by her daughter, Anne (Robert) Vandekieft of Fremont; her son, Tom (Pam) Ward of Raleigh, North Carolina; her step children, Jim (Denise) Schulte of Wixom, Michigan; MaryKay (Al) Alexander; Patti Nichol; Nancy ( Bob) Douglass; John ( Lori) Schulte; 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her first husband, Hugh Ward in 1981; her second husband, Jerry Schulte in 2004; her son, Michael Ward in 2007 and by her sisters, Anne Best and Eloise Remington.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m at the Fremont Congregational Church 714 Hillcrest Fremont MI 49412 with a time of visitation from 10-11am at the church. Burial will take place at the Sherman Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider the Fremont Area District Library or the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Marian.
