Marian Esther Slater, 89, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026.

Marian was born December 26, 1936, the daughter of Waldo and Esther Walsworth. She married Paul Slater on November 10, 1956 and together they enjoyed 49 years of marriage until his death in 2006. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Marian enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing and volunteer work. She was a warm -hearted, faithful, strong woman who will be deeply missed.

Marian graduated from Fremont High School in 1954. She pursued a degree in nursing and graduated in 1957 from Hackley School of nursing. She was very proud to have been a nurse for 38 years and enjoyed talking with people about her career. After she retired in 1995, she and Paul spent their retirement years traveling, camping, and as snow birds in Florida. They also enjoyed their home on Twin Lake.

Marian is survived by: “the girls”, Jill Stuthard and Paula Morris; grandchildren, Jordan Stuthard, Jeffrey (Brittany) Stuthard, Jonathan Stuthard, Nicole Brown, and Jared (Alexandria) Morris; 9 loving great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Walsworth; sister-in-law, Martha Saxton; and several nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers, Keith, Wayne, and Dale.

A Mass of Catholic Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at St. Michaels Catholic Church Brunswick 6382 Maple Island Road Fremont. Immediately following mass a private interment will take place. Visitation and Fellowship will continue after Mass in the Church Fellowship Hall
