Marie Craig, age 85 of Croton, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont . She was born on August 29, 1917 in DeKalb County , Indiana to Samuel and Elsie L. (Haynes) Shutt and married Walter Craig on November 7, 1932 in Indiana . She moved the Croton area in 1948 from Auburn , Indiana and had been a bank teller at the Croton branch of the Independent Bank until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of the Big Prairie Community Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Walter of Croton; her children, Barbara (Joseph) Maile of Newaygo; Francis (Marlene) Craig of Thompson Falls, Montana; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elsie Smith in 1994; 2 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 24, 2003 from the Big Prairie Community Church with Pastor Arnold Guikema and Pastor David Andrew presiding with interment in the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery .
