Marie Wever, age 81 of Fremont, passed away Friday Oct. 6, 2000, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. She was born on January 31, 1919, in Fremont to Ben and Anna (Hall) Westra and married Harvey Wever on October 23, 1941, in Fremont. Harvey preceded her in death on December 19, 1970. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Fremont and a life long resident of Fremont. She is survived by a daughter Donna Hren of Fremont; sons, James (Roxanne) Wever of Muskegon and Stanley (Elaine) Wever of Lansing; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters Jeannette (Dennis) Teerman of Fremont and Kathleen Heetderks of Grand Rapids; brother Marvin (Esther) Westra of Missouri; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Monday October 9, 2000, at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Allen Petroelje of the First Christian Reformed Church officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fremont Area Foundation for the Newaygo Medical Care Facility Atrium Fund for a more lasting memorial.
