Marie Joan Portz, a cherished matriarch and beloved resident of Newaygo, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the age of 95. Marie was born into a loving family on January 29, 1929, in Hancock, Michigan.

Marie dedicated her life as a homemaker, enriching the lives of those around her with warmth and kindness. She found immense joy in spending time with her family, who were the center of her world. Marie was known for her love of baking and delighted in the simple pleasures of going for rides and enjoying ice cream outings, creating countless treasured memories with her loved ones.

She is survived by her devoted son, Michael (Jerry) Portz, and loving daughter, Donna (Levi) Moses. Her legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Marie was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews and developed friendships that spanned generations. Marie was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, William Portz, her dear daughter, Patty Walker, and sons Steve Portz and David Portz. She is also reunited with her parents, Walter Wood and Amanda Fredrica Wood, as well as her brother, Robert Wood, and sister, Ruth Peters.

A visitation will be held at Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud Chapel on Friday, November 29 from 1pm-2pm with a funeral service starting at 2pm. Funeral arrangements were entrusted with Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud Chapel.
