Mariel J. Sullivan, age 74 of White Cloud, formerly of Lockport, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009 at her home following a short illness. Mariel was born on September 7, 1934 in Chicago to Byron and Florence (Moore) Connett and later met and married William Sullivan on January 2, 1954 in Chicago. Mariel moved to the White Cloud area in 1989 from Lockport where she had been an active volunteer at the St. Joseph Catholic Church and School in Lockport for several years prior to moving to White Cloud. Mariel was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud where she was also a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church Altar Society. Mariel also enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, and had been a volunteer at the White Cloud Area Library and a was a member of the Friends of the White Cloud Area Library. Mariel was also fond of spending time with the Birthday Club and the River Valley Club. Mariel is survived by her husband, Bill of White Cloud; her children, Bill (Ruth) Sullivan of Aurora, Illinois; Gene (Sharon) Sullivan of Lockport, Illinois; Alexis (Rodney) Zeletal of Perrysville, Ohio; Mariel Jean (Paul) Kobylarczyk of New Lenox, Illinois; Bryan Sullivan of Omaha, Nebraska; Maura (Matthew) Chellino of Amarillo, Texas; Monica Collins of Bellevue, Ohio; Tom (Josie) Sullivan of Joliet, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. Mariel was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mariel Sullivan; her son, Terry Sullivan and by 2 grandchildren, Daniel and Jeremy Collins. VISITATION : Monday, September 7, 2009 from 6-8pm at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. ROSARY SERVICES : Monday at 7:45pm at the funeral home.
