Marilyn "Joy" Clarey passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026. Born on April 2, 1956, she brought love, light and a little chaos everywhere she roamed! She loved music, outdoor explorations, animals of all kinds, and most of all family and friends. She certainly lived up to her middle name as she was a 'Joy' to be around.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Matthew, father, John, grandparents, Paul and Esther Brock, Westly and Elsie Genson, sister, Martha, nephew, Chad, and sadly many other loved ones.

Left behind with heartache are her mother, Donna, brothers, Bill (Annie) Genson and Dave, sister, Eva (Chad) Armstrong, many nieces and nephews, her first love, Jerry (Vicky) Cushman, and many family and friends.

So much could be said about our beautiful Marilyn, just ask any one of us. A big heartfelt thank you to our cousin, Andrea, and the Newaygo County Compassion Home of Fremont... Marilyn truly was selfless, kind, and giving; the best daughter and sister anyone could ask for...Forever in our hearts
