Marion E. Cruzan, age 96 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at his home. Marion was born on February 21, 1914 in North Loup, Nebraska to Ira and Ruth (Babcock) Cruzan and later married Ruth Davis on October 26, 1945 in Boulder, Colorado. Marion has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area where he started as a builder with the Briggs Construction Company and then joined the United States Army. After his return from the military, Marion and his brother Don, formed Cruzan Brothers Builders and continued his trade into his mid 80s. Marion was an active member of the 7th Day Baptist Church in White Cloud where he was a Deacon. He enjoyed flower gardening and baseball in White Cloud with the little league and pony league groups. Marion had also served on the White Cloud City Council for several years. SURVIVORS : his wife, Ruth of White Cloud; children, Cheryl Cruzan (special friend, Mark Weatherford) of White Cloud; Duane (Luann) Cruzan of White Cloud; Edward (Cathy) Cruzan of White Cloud; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Don Cruzan of White Cloud; Marvin (Jackie) Cruzan of White Cloud; Irvin Cruzan of Fremont; Doris Peck of Colorado; Marvel Pamroze of Georgia; Harvey (Carol) Cruzan of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Shick. VISITATION : Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 4-7pm at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Friday, January 7, 2011 at 1pm at the 7th Day Baptist Church in White Cloud. INTERMENT : White Cloud Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : 7th Day Baptist Church Parsonage Fund.
