Marjorie L. Delong, age 87 of Sebring, Florida, formerly of Hesperia, passed away peacefully at the Kenilworth Rehab Center in Sebring on Friday, December 1, 2017. Marjorie was born on June 13, 1930 in Hesperia to Charles and Eileen Muriel (Norris) DeLong. Marjorie was a born again Christian which occurred on February 6, 1951. Marjorie became a missionary/school teacher with Sudan Interior Ministries in Nigeria, West Africa for 22 years until she moved back the United States and became a teacher at the White Lake Christian School in Montague for several years and then retired to the Sudan Interior Mission Lodge Retirement Community in Sebring, Florida. Marjorie was a former member of the Hesperia Baptist Church and was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church in Sebring, Florida. Marjorie is survived by her sisters, Maxine Annis of Hespeia; Shirley Maat of Fremont; a special friend, George Mattackal; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marjorie was preceded in death by the following - brother and sister-in-law, Charles E. and Dorothy Delong; brother and sister-in-law, John and Elaine Roberson; brother, Everett Delong; her sister and brother-in-law, Vionne and Edmond James; her brothers-in-laws; Almer Maat and William Annis; her nephews Everett Maat and Rob Roberson; and special friend, Sairah Mattackal. Graveside memorial services will be held in the spring of 2018 at the East Hesperia Cemetery and further service date and time information will be posted at that time.
