Ferner, Mark L. (William) Mark L. (William) Ferner, age 47 of Croton, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at his home following a short illness. Mark was born on September 3, 1956 in Grant, Michigan to William and Lois (Kryger) Ferner later graduated from Forest Hills Central High School. He married Linda Whalen on June 8, 1979 in Wyoming and Mark and Linda moved to Newaygo from Wyoming in December 1992. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sailing. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda of Croton; his sons, Sean and Eric Ferner of Croton; his father, William Ferner of Newaygo; brothers, Richard (Debbie) Ferner of South Carolina; Kevin (Cindy) Ferner of Oregon; Joe (Lisa) Ferner of Grandville; Rob French of Newaygo; Ron (Stephanie) French of Ada; mother & father-in-law, Ronald & Arlene Whalen of Wyoming; sisters-in-law, Carol (Greg) Popma of Wyoming; Susan (Ellery) Gill of Wyoming; Lori (Craig) Myers of Grandville; several aunts, uncles, cousins; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois French and a sister, Melissa French. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 3, 2004 from the Pine Grove Community Church with Rev. Steve Vanderwest of the Pine Grove Community Church presiding with interment in the Newaygo Cemetery.
