Martha L. "Marty" Schrock, age 92 of Fremont, formerly of Orrville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Green Acres Assisted Living Center in Fremont.   The family would like to send a special thank you to the direct care staff at Green Acres for the excellent and compassionate care given to Marty while she resided at Green Acres Fremont.   Marty was born on August 11, 1931 in Wooster, Ohio to Mary Agnes (Bursani) and Arthur Walker Whitmore.  Marty's mother remarried James Zappone and together Mary and James raised Marty in Wooster, Ohio and moved to Orrville, Ohio after her marriage until she moved to Fremont in 2020.  Marty married Ronald Schrock on December 22, 1950 in Waukegan, Illinois – 3 days before Ronald would leave to serve in the United States Navy.  Ronald preceded her in death on June 20, 1983.  Marty had been a purchasing clerk at Beuhler's Grocery in Orrville for over 30 years until her retirement.  Marty was a talented seamstress, enjoyed tending to her flowers, working jigsaw puzzles and enjoyed her cats.

Marty is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Jim) Anderson-Patterson of Fremont; her grandchildren and great grandchildren – Kevin (Autumn) Anderson and their children, Luke, Brody, and Carter; Jami (Rich) Kubacki and their children, Anthony, LeeAnn, and Aubrey; Ryan (Julie) Anderson and their children, Tommy and Maddie.  Marty was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and James Zappone and her son, Darrell Schrock.
