Marvin Moon, age 80, of Fremont passed away Friday morning, Dec 28, 2001at his home. He was born on September 11, 1921 in Dayton Township to Noble and Bertha (Cook) Moon and married Anna Lee Jensen on January 12, 1946. Marvin was a faithful member of the Fremont United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a maintenance person for the Newaygo County Fair Association and was a member of the Teamsters for over 30 years working for Michigan Produce Haulers. He was known as the city-farmer and the green giant on the tractor to many of the 4-H youth of Newaygo County. Survivors include his loving wife, Anna Lee; children, Rodney (Deb) Moon of Muskegon, William (Bill) Moon; Susan (Jim) Waters; John and fiance (Kathy Palumbo); and Jane (David) McAllister all of Fremont; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; special niece, Charlene Carrigan of Muskegon; 5 sisters, Arlene (Les) Hastings; Thelma (Bernard) Coverly; Orpha (Max) Teerman; Leora (Gary) Williamson; and Elna (Harry) Neiboer; 2 brothers, Nate (Marge) Moon and Erwin (Sharon) Moon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ellen Johnson. Funeral services were held on Monday December 31, 2001 from the Fremont United Methodist Church. Friends are asked to consider the Fremont Area Commununity Foundation for The Endowment Fund of the Fremont United Methodist Church.
