Marvin A. Webster, 71, of White Cloud, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Marvin was born on May 3, 1933, in White Cloud to Ralph Waldo Emerson and Louise Irene (Duston) Webster and has been a lifelong resident of Big Prairie Township. He married Joan Louise Zirbel on March 12, 1955, was a farmer, and worked at Briggs Sawmill in White Cloud. He was a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War, and served as Supervisor and Assessor for Big Prairie Township. He sat on the Township Board of Review and was sexton of Big Prairie/Everett Cemetery. Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joan of White Cloud; his children, Gregory (Bonnie) Webster of Muskegon, Debra (Mike) Hart of Grant, Mike (Sheryl) Webster of Newaygo, Wade (Barb) Webster of Galesburg, Patricia (Terry) Force of Grant, and Richard (Penny) Webster of White Cloud, and Lora (Gary) Pedersen of Fremont; 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jannettte (Marvin) Deur of White Cloud and Norma (Jerry) Hoffman of Fremont; brother, Orville (Melodee) Webster of White Cloud; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Louise I. Webster in 2001, and father Ralph on 1982. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from the Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud with Rev. Richard Stoll and Rev. Wesley Smith officiating. Interment was in Big Prairie Everett Cemetery. Military rites were presented by the Croton American Legion Post #381.
