Mary A. Bromley, age 72 of Walkerville, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont. Mary was born on September 19, 1951 in Grand Rapids to David and Harriet (Schuur) Orr and later married Bevis Bromley on October 2, 1972 at the Walkerville Weslyan Church. Mary has been a lifelong resident of the Walkerville area where she had worked as a production worker, had picked apples and pickles, worked in the Christmas tree harvesting industry, provided child day care and retired as a home health care worker. Mary enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, going to the casino, reading, making ceramics and bowling. Mary is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bevis of Walkerville; her daughter, Heather (Scott) Trombley of Whitehall; her son, Ami Bromley of Whitehall; her grandchildren, Savannah (Andrew) Gosselin; Noah (Sydney) Trombley; Caitlyn (Tyler) Trombley; Mason Bromley; Elia Bromley; her great grandchildren, Rowan Gosselin, Claire Gosselin, Maeve Trombley; her sisters, Judy (Lynn) Smith of Grand Rapids, Diane Mesler of Coopersville; many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Harriet Dodyk; her father, David Orr; her sisters, Bernice Orr, Pam (Doug) Yeakey, Joy Perez and her brother, David Orr. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Walkerville Wesleyan Church 144 176th Ave Walkerville, MI 49459 with Pastor Bob Abbott presiding. Interment will be in the Elbridge Cemetery. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Newaygo County Compassion Home in memory of Mary.
