Mary Ann Elliott, age 93, of White Cloud, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont, Michigan. She was born on June 12, 1926 in Detroit to Alexander and Sophie (Jedynak) Derewitz and married James Franklin Elliott II on May 18, 1957 in Dearborn, Michigan. Mary Ann enjoyed art and music and loved to sing. Her creativity served as inspiration for both of her sons' future careers. She served as a lector at St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud, where she was a longtime parishioner. Mary Ann is survived by her children James Franklin (Susanne) Elliott III of California, Paul Alexander (Jennifer Delaney) Elliott of California and Karen Ann (John) Balmer of Ohio, grandchildren Sedona Elliott, Declan and Iris Elliott, Ryan and Bradley French, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James in 1997 and brothers Frank and Jerome Derewitz. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud with Father Steve Geerling officiating.
