Mary Evelyn Babe Fitzpatrick, age 91 of Fremont, passed away Friday, March 25, 2005 at the St. Marys Living Center in Grand Rapids. Mary was born on March 20, 1914 in Ohio to John Curtis and Elizabeth (Wilmuth) Carothers and later moved to the Fremont area in 1928. She met and married Loren Fitzpatrick on April 12, 1939 in Fremont and Loren preceded her in death on April 1, 1997. Mary enjoyed gardening, had been active in the Fremont United Methodist Church, enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She along with her husband, Loren ran the Greenwood Farms Dairy and fruit farm for several years in Dayton Township. She was a longtime member of the Fremont United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Gayle (Mel) Baran of Racine, Wisconsin; John (Darlene) Fitzpatrick of Belmont; her grandchildren, Melissa Baran; Autum (Dustin) Brown and their children, Clover and Lake Brown; Brett Fitzpatrick (Amy Holstein) and their daughter, Meadow Fitzpatrick; Cory Fitzpatrick; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marian (Walker) Messener; Jean Gilliland; Ann Correll; her brother, John Carothers. FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday 11:00am at the Fremont United Methodist Church. INTERMENT : Jewell Cemetery in Dayton Township. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : St. Marys Living Center Patient Activity Fund. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 11am from the Fremont United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Wood presiding with interment in the Jewell Cemetery in Dayton Township.
