Mary Eva Franklin, age 80 of White Cloud and Grand Rapids and formerly of Detroit, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 21, 2001 at Spectrum Health-Blodgett Campus. She was born on May 21, 1920 in Detroit to Joseph and Teresa (Frank) Bach and married Frank J. Franklin on November 15, 1947 in California. Frank preceded her in death in 1977. She had worked as a bookkeeper for many years and later became an office manager for H&R block in Detroit until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the White River Pines Hunt Club and the Detroit Hikers Club. She also enjoyed playing pinochle in White Cloud Area and enjoyed the activities at the Newaygo County Commission On Aging. She is survived her son, Randy (Brenda) Franklin of Grand Rapids; 4 grandchildren; 5 foster grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Betty Edwards of Detroit; brother-in-law, Frank Domilici of Petosky; several sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Dave & Tonya Woodruff. She was preceded in death by 1 sister, Ann and brother Joseph. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 24, 2001 from the Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud with funeral celebrant Curt Crandell presiding with interment in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in White Cloud.
