Mary Lou Hansen, age 94, of Norton Shores passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at home with her family by her side. Mary Lou was born on August 11, 1927, in Nashville, Michigan to Emmett Earl and Emma Louise (Trask) Gibson and married Walter D. Hansen on June 4, 1948, in Hart. Mary Lou was a Registered Nurse and had worked at many hospitals in Michigan and has spent the majority of her life caring for others. Mary Lou enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading, playing cards, traveling, spending time with her family, and volunteering with hospice organizations. She has been a member of both the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Muskegon and the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Walter; children, Kathleen A. Wozniak of Monroe, Susan K. (Gerald) Bontrager of Texas, Rebecca L. Campbell of North Muskegon, Barbara M. (Lorin Cartwright) Hansen of Ann Arbor, and Peter A. (Rosemary) Hansen of Texas; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Ann Klitzner, Alcie (Jim) Barnes, and Barbara Fitzgibbon. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers; 4 sisters; son-in-law, Robert Wozniak; and great-granddaughter, Scarlett Wozniak. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 5 – 7 PM at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont. Memorial services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, October 23 at the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Erich Hoeft and Pastor Timothy Winkel officiating. There will be a time of refreshments at the Church following the service. Interment will be in the Holton Lutheran Cemetery.
