Adam Bronkema Posted 8/25/2007 Sorry to hear of your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you Stacy and your family. Terri Willson Posted 8/28/2007 Dear Gary and Michelle, While sending a recent condolence to another family who had just lost a loved one, I came upon your mother's obituary of last year. I didn't know your mother, but I was a friend and classmate of your father, Gene, from kindergarten through high school graduation. My parents were friends of your grandparents and my brothers were friends of your aunts and uncle. Our family, the Matsons, also attended the First Congregational Church with the Hasteds. When your Grandmother Hasted was a Brownie Scout leader, she had her troop out at their cottage for a week, and Gene and I, as high schoolers, went along to help out that week. In the summer, I used to go to baseball games in Grand Rapids with your Uncle "Whitey" and your dad in Whitey's jeep. Gene and I were really good buddies all through those years of school. Your parents are buried near my father in the Newaygo Cemetery, and my mother, Velma Matson, (98 yrs. in June) will be laid to rest beside my father when that time comes. The school, at the top of the hill where your father grew up, is the Velma Matson Upper Elementary, named for my mother. I am so sorry that you lost your parents at such early ages. Good wishes, Joelyn Matson Stone Sylvania, Ohio Posted 3/30/2008
