Mary J. Knapp, age 80 of Hesperia passed away on Monday, April 7 2014 at her home. Mary was born on July 24, 1933 in Grand Rapids to Perry and Kathryn Freeman and had worked at Bissell in Grand Rapids for over 25 years. She was a member of the Hesperia American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, and crafts.

Mary is survived by her life long companion Bing Botruff; children, Marilyn Matheny of Lansing, and Phillip Knapp of Traverse City; 2 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister and brother, Gloria VanderKooi of Florida and William Freeman of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
