Mary Joanne Lamb, age 80, of Holton passed away on December 10, 2021, at Mercy Health – Mercy Campus in Muskegon. Mary Jo was born on July 8, 1941, in Fremont to Severt and Pauline E. "Betty" (Ruprecht) Swenson Sr. and had worked at Gilliland & Gra-Bell Transportation for many years. Mary Jo was an avid reader and will be remembered for making her famous popcorn balls. Mary Jo cherished time with her family and made a special point to attend the children's and grandchildren's sporting events. She had a strong faith and was a member of the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mary Jo is survived by her children, Blane Swenson of Holton, Gene (Michalle) Lamb of Holton, Beth (Guy) McKeown of Hesperia, Stephanie (Mike) Norris of Hudson, Ohio, Richard (Melissa) Lamb of South Lyon, and the late Debra (Brian) Cygeirt of Holton; grandchildren, Andrew Vitale, Matt (Chelsea) Swenson, Katie (Michael) Hoover, Deanna (Chad) Brant, Amanda Lamb, Sara (Rodney) Gifford, Allison (Brandon) Beattie, Jordan (Kendall) Nye, Rylee Schmuck, Wyatt Curtis, Finn Curtis, Wesley (Jessica) Cygeirt, and Christopher (Bridget) Cygeirt; great grandchildren, Haylee, Carter, Brianna, Austin, Caiden, Brycen, Connor, Kenna, and Quinley; brother, Steven "Buck" Swenson of Holton; brother-in-law, Jim LaRochelle of Evanston, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Butch Swenson and sister, Carla LaRochelle. A Celebration of Mary Jo's Life will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with Pastor Erich Hoeft officiating.
