Maher, Mary Jean Mary Jean Maher, age 59 of Coleman, Michigan, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2004 with her family by her side after a 5 year battle with breast cancer. Mary was born on July 20, 1945 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Bernie and Helene (Fix) Witte and married William J. Maher on June 15, 1968 at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo. She had been a teacher at the Coleman Community Schools for 32 years and was a member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Coleman where she served as vice president of the Alter Society and was a member of the Parish Council. She was also a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont. She is survived by her husband, William J. Maher of Coleman; her mother, Helene Witte of Newaygo; daughters, Kelly (Sean) Berrie of Mullica Hill, New Jersey; Carrie (Quinn) Vandenberg of Fremont; Shannon (Andy) Jansma of Kent City; her grandchildren, Caela Berrie; Emma Berrie and Parker Vandenberg; her sisters, Pat (Frank) Klackle of Belding; Joan (Mike) Weiler of Comstock Park; her brothers, Ray (Ginny) Witte of Grant; Rich (Bonnie) Witte of Newaygo; Ben (Annie) Witte of New Hartford, Connecticut; Brian (Carol) Witte of Auburn, Michigan; Jerry (Annette) Witte of Mt. Pleasant; Ron (Maria) Witte of Jenison; 29 nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Con-celebrants, Rev. Father Tony Russo and Rev. Father Joseph Fix presiding with interment in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Fremont. Friends may consider the Susan G.
