Mary Jane Mlnarik, age 93, of Fremont passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Mary was born on November 16, 1927, in Jacksonville, Illinois to Walter D. and Sarah B. (Allen) Lonergan and married James L. Mlnarik on September 9, 1949, in Jacksonville. Jane had taught school in Holton and the Fremont School Systems. Jane enjoyed knitting, reading, golfing, playing piano, traveling, and volunteering at the Dogwood Center and the Hospital (HAGS). She was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont. Mary is survived by her sons, Michael Edward (Pamela) Mlnarik and Thomas Paul Mlnarik. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Peter (Elisa) Mlnarik and their children Sophia, Emilee, and Abby; Daniel (Danielle) Mlnarik and their children, Grace and Easton; and Rebecca (Jacob) Meinema and their child Eli. Also surviving is her sister, Harriet Sutton; sister-in-law, Carolyn Lonergan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L.; sons, David Martin Mlnarik and James Steven Mlnarik; sisters, Margaret Kaufmann and Sarah Dietrich; brother, Walter Lonergan; brother-in-law, Robert Sutton; and sister-in-law, Lois Bina. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM on Friday October 8, 2021, at the All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Father Peter Schafer officiating. There will be visitation at the Church starting at 10AM prior to the Mass. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
