Mary Ann Powers Fox, age 62 of Carson City, Nevada, born and raised in Fremont, passed away peacefully with her family on Thursday, June 8, 2006 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Mary was born on July 27, 1943 in Fremont to Knox C. and Nelda (Britton) Powers and graduated from Fremont High School. Mary later attended Michigan State University and graduated with a bachelors degree from Michigan State. Mary was an accomplished seamstress, homemaker, and quilter. Mary is survived by her husband, Gary L. Fox of Carson City, Nevada; her children, Britt Chapman; Beth (Tom) Giddings; her grandchildren, Connor & Katie Giddings; Rebecca & Aaron Garrett; her parents, Knox C. and Nelda (Britton) Powers; stepchildren, Mindi (Augustus) Mendenhall; Barbara (John) Garrett; her brothers, Doug (Mindy) Powers; John (Opal) Powers; Joe (Roni) Powers; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 12, 2006 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Larry Wood of the Fremont United Methodist Church presiding with interment in the East Hesperia Cemetery.
