Obituary

God needed another angel, so He called Mary home to Heaven on June 27, 2015. Mary was born on April 27, 1940 in Dubuque, Iowa to James and Lucille (Altman) Corbett. Mary graduated from St. Columbkille High School in 1958 and lived in Dubuque until she met and married Robert Ward on August 6, 1966. The couple moved to Rockford, Illinois where Robert was employed as a sales manager for Gerber Products. In 1970, they moved to Chicago when Robert was promoted to account manager and in 1980, the Wards moved to Fremont. Mary had worked as a telephone manager for Bell Telephone for 20 years until her retirement. Mary was an active member of the All Saints Catholic Church where she had been a Eucharistic Minister and treasured her Christian religion and held various offices within the church order. Mary enjoyed golfing, playing tennis, pickleball, and was a loving and devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren. Mary is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert of Fremont; her three children, Robert (Angela) Ward Jr. of Fremont; Catherine Katie (Keith) Vogel of Fremont; Stephen (Laura) Ward of Denver, Colorado. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Quinn Vogel, Corbin Vogel both of Fremont; Ivan Ward, Maxim Ward and identical twins, Katya and Mila Ward all of Denver; her sister, Patricia Richey of Peosta, Iowa. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lucille Corbett and by her brother, James Corbett Jr. VISITATION : Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 5-7pm at Crandell Funeral Home Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel and Friday from 10-11 at the All Saints Catholic Church. ROSARY SERVICES : Thursday at 7:00pm at the Crandell Funeral Home. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL : Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11am at the All Saints Catholic Church 500 Iroquois Fremont MI 49412. INTERMENT following cremation: Maple Grove Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : All Saints Catholic Church
