Matthew Ryan Moomey, age 40, of Newaygo, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025. He was born on August 15, 1984, to Rick and Jana (Ruell) Moomey, Sr. in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Matthew was a hard working laborer. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and gardening. One of the most important things to Matthew was his dedication to his family and friends.

He was very proud of the progress of his faith. Matthew is survived by his daughter, Madison Maurice Moomey. His parents, Rick and Jana Moomey, Sr. Grandmother, Melba Ruell. Nieces, Jeanine Marie Moomey, Makayla Dawn Moomey,  and nephew, Isaiah Lee Moomey. Along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanine Marie Moomey; brother, Ricky Lee Moomey III; grandfather, David C. Ruell, Sr.; and his grandmother, Eva Mae Beardsley.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 11, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont, Michigan with a service to follow at 11:00 am. Immediately following the service there will be a luncheon held at Rick and Jana Moomey's home at 9870 South Colonial Ave., Grant, MI 49327
