Maurice Fetterley, age 74 of White Cloud, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2000 at his home. He was born on May 30, 1925 in Goodwell Township to William Henry and Pearl Blanche (Harrison) Fetterley and married Barbara Veenstra on October 4, 1947 in Hesperia. Barbara preceded him in death on November 15, 1993. He has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud where he had been the manager for the Petrolane Propane Gas Company in Brohman until his retirement. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army Company K, 119th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division where he received 3 bronze stars. He was also a member of the White Cloud V.F.W. He had also been active in the Michigan Road Riders and had been a member of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club. He is survived by his children; Yvonne (Elton) Hoenshell of White Cloud; Maurice William (Ruth) Fetterley of Indianapolis, Indiana; Gary (Judy) Fetterley of White Cloud; Dan (Teresa) Fetterley of Bailey; Wayne (Chris) Fetterley of Newaygo; Debora (Terry) Shinew of Attica, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Mildred (Harry) Gingrich of Fremont; Lula Belle Harvey of White Cloud; Violet Kring of Holland; brother, Louie (Wilda) Fetterley of Kent City. One daughter, Elizabeth Fetterley and one granddaughter, Dana Marie Fetterley preceded him in death. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 7, 2000 from the Crandell Funeral Home Chapel in White Cloud with Pastor Daren Penwell of the Bailey Church of Christ presiding with interment in the Sherman Township Cemetery.
