Dietz, Max Raymond Max R. Dietz, age 83, of Fremont passed away on May 11, 2005, at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital in Greenville, Michigan. He was born on September 24, 1921, in Lansing to Frederick E. and Edna Marie (Baker) Dietz and married Betty Ann Kennedy on January 9, 1944, in Lansing. Max was Director of Research For Process And Product Development at Gerber Products Company and retired after 35 years of service. He was a founding member of the Ramshorn Country Club, Loyal Order of Moose #1555, Croton American Legion, and Fremont Rotary Club. Max loved to fish, hunt, and golf. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of St. Johns The Evangelist Episcopal Church in Fremont. He is survived by his children, Susan (Kristian) Phillippy of Fremont, Jane (Wayne) Frens of Oregon, Max R. (Martha) Dietz of Battle Creek, and William Bill James (Ronda) Dietz of Lakeview; 2 granddaughters, Anne & Jessica; grandson, Andrew; several nieces and nephews; and companion Odile Hahn of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty; son Charles Dietz and brother Frederick Dietz. Memorial services were held on Monday May 16, 2005, at Crandell Funeral Home.
