Nadeau, Max D. Max D. Nadeau, age 74 of Fremont, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. He was born on May 1, 1930 in Lansing, the son of W. J. Doug and Violet E. (Baddis) Nadeau and has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area. Max had been a truck driver for many years and later was the founder and owner of Amys Restaurant in Fremont until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid card player, and enjoyed trivia. He had been a speaker for AA for several years as well. He was a member of the Fremont V.F.W. Laurel's Post #6898 and served in the United States Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his son, Kip (Sandy) Nadeau of Grand Haven; daughter, Karlene Nadeau of Flagstaff, Arizona; his mother, Violet Nadeau of Fremont; grandchildren, Travis (Stacey) Nadeau; Justin Nadeau; Amanda (Don) Nadeau Zant; Ryan Nadeau; Deric Nadeau; Jordan Nadeau; great grandchildren, Makayla; Jacob; Chloe; and Madison; his brothers and sisters, Rex (Diana) Nadeau of Fremont; Gary Nadeau of Fremont; Van (Judy) Nadeau of Union Grove, Wisconsin; Yvonne (Roger) King of Norton Shores; Jane Ann (Arnold) Rottman of Fremont; Vickie (Huey) Hendrix of Fremont; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Dick & Pat Foster of Fremont He was preceded in death by his sons, Keith Nadeau in 1985 and Kevin Nadeau in 1999; his father, W.J. Doug Nadeau in 1976; his longtime companion, Jean Morton in 2003. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 27, 2004 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. John Moser of the Newaygo County Chaplaincy Service presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may consider the Max D.
